St. John's also provides opportunities to become involved in taking the message of Christ out into the world, proving assistance to those in the local community and the world. For information about any of these ministries, please contact the church office.

Outreach

St. John’s Episcopal Day School—The day school is one of the longest running and most successful ministries provided by St. John’s.  The school provides quality education in a Christian setting for children ages 2 years through 5th grade.

Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts—St. John’s sponsors Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops for all age groups.

Alcoholics Anonymous / Alanon—St. John’s hosts AA & Alanon meetings weekly.

Mission Outreach—St. John’s sponsors various local and international mission trips. These include large medical mission trips to Honduras, mission trips to Mexico and hosting missionary groups working in the Rio Grande Valley and the northern Mexico border area.

St. John's Food Pantry - Working in conjunction with the RGV Food Bank, St. John's collects and distributes food to families in need. Volunteers are invited to donate food, assemble food boxes and distribute the food donations to families in the community.

St. John's Foundation - St. John's Foundation manages endowed funds donated to the church for ministry, outreach and liturgical enhancement projects.

Cancer Support Group - This group provides support for individuals, families and friends who are impacted by cancer or other illnesses.

 

Fellowship

The Fishermen of St. John's -  The Fishermen of St. John's is a fellowship based group for men. Church members, newcomers and visitors gather for fellowship & a meal, often completing service projects. This is a great way to get to know other men in the church.

Fun With Friends - Several times a year, St. John's sponsors social activities  that provide an opportunity to visit with other parish members outside of the church setting. The activities include camping trips, cook out & hayrides at local ranches, Schlitterbahn trips & pool parties, movie & game nights at the church or other locations and outings to local sporting events.These activities are fun for all ages.
