Marriage
In a Christian marriage, a man and a woman enter into a life-long union, making vows to God, the Church and one another to live their lives with Jesus Christ as the foundation of their marriage.
The Book of Common Prayer states that "... marriage is not to be entered into unadvised or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purpose for which it was instituted by God." Therefore, we at St. John's Episcopal Church take marriage very seriously. The clergy is here to assist couples in planning and preparing for not only their wedding ceremony, but more importantly, their entire married life.
Marriage Preparation:
Those who desire to be married at St. John's Episcopal Church must either be members or have an immediate family member who is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church; they must meet with a member of the clergy at St. John's and the couple must successfully complete premarital Christian counseling.
